Korky Paul
Korky Paul was born in Harare, Zimbabwe in 1951. He studied art at the Durban School of Art then spent three years working for an advertising agency in Cape Town. In 1976 he got a job illustrating and designing educational books in Greece. He then spent some time working for an advertising agency in London and Los Angeles and then studied film animation at Cal Arts in California. Korky Paul is married with two children. He works in Oxford but spends the summer living it up in Greece.

Valerie Thomas
Valerie Thomas was born in Australia and has lived there for most of her life. She has worked as a teacher, but her special hobby is travelling, and she has travelled to most parts of the world, even Antartica, but she doesn't travel by broomstick. She is now trying to organise her life so that she never has to experience another winter. She used to live with a big black cat exactly like Wilbur, but luckily her house was not black.

Winnie the Witch
Winnie the Witch lives in a big black house with her trusty cat Wilbur. She spends a lot of time practising her spells especially when she is performing at the Witches' Magic Show. Her favourite meal is tea and warm muffins and her favourite clothes are her stripy tights. She dislikes people selling ice-creams in her garden and travelling by skateboard. Her hobbies include changing her cat different colours and loading spells on to her brand new computer.

Wilbur
Wilbur lives in a big house with Winnie the Witch whom he loves very much. He spends a lot of time trying to get Winnie out of scrapes even thought things don't always turn out the way he planned. His favourite meal is a saucer of warm milk. He likes flying round with Winnie on the back of her broomstick especially now she has her glasses. He dislikes being changed different colours, being put out in the rain and that wretched new computer mouse.
