Information for Clients

OXPIP's Commitment to Clients

We will do our best to help you and your baby.

All clinicians offer an introductory session which provides the opportunity for both client and counsellor to decide whether counselling should proceed. At this stage they may agree on an initial number of sessions.

Man and babyAll sessions last 50 minutes, usually on the same day at the same time each week.

A waiting list of clients is maintained.

Under certain exceptional circumstances it is possible to arrange for clients to be visited at home.

Confidentiality

All information disclosed to clinicians is confidential.

In exceptionable circumstances, if a clinician felt that a client was in danger to herself/himself or to others and the client was unwilling for the clinician to inform outside agencies, the OXPIP reserves the right to inform others but would, whenever possible, inform the client before doing so.

Fees

OXPIP is a registered charity and relies on payment of contributions from the families it serves.

It also relies on the generosity of charitable foundations, corporate donors and private benefactors to continue its work.

OXPIP offers treatment on need, not on the ability to pay - families are asked to make a contribution.

Training

All clinicians are professionally qualified as psychotherapists or counsellors.

They have all had training and/or experience in working with parents and babies.

Code of Ethics

All clinicians are registered with a professional organisation and are bound by its Code of Ethics and Practice.

Supervision

All OXPIP clinicians receive regular supervision.

Client's Commitment to OXPIP

There are many mothers and babies who need help and OXPIP's resources are limited.

At least 24 hours notice should be given in the event of clients not being able to attend appointments.

If a number of appointments are not kept and adequate notice is not given to your therapist, your appointment time will be offered to someone on the waiting list.
